Multi-instrumentalist, Producer and Engineer Gavin Ralston, has been involved in the Music industry for many years - covering virtually every Genre from Rock, Pop & Folk to Traditional, Classical and Theatre shows. He began his musical career performing on the Dublin rock music scene before moving to Dingle in Kerry to study Irish Traditional Guitar with the legendary musical genius Steve Cooney. He has since gone on to perform & tour with Many Traditional & Folk Acts including:
Sharon Shannon, Arcady, Beginish, Begley & Cooney, Brendan Begley, David Munnelly Band, Eimear Quinn, Maire Breatnach, Cormac Breatnach, Lunasa & A host of other Traditional Artists.
Gavin also has an extensive Rock & Pop pedigree having performed with acts such as:
The Waterboys, Picturehouse, Clannad, Bagatelle, Luan Parle, Revelino, Eleanor McEvoy & Ruth Ann Cunningham.
In the Theatrical world he has performed in various Irish dance shows including :
Michael Flatley's Celtic Tiger, Eric Cunningham's Dance of Desire & Dance on the Moon, Charlie Lennon's Waves, Colm O Foghlu's Busch Gardens & Gael Force, & Mairead Nesbitt's Invasions Show (Celtic Woman/Lord of the Dance).
He also performed with the Riverdance choral group Anuna, featured as a guitarist in Rubato's Flaminco Dance Show Bull Dance & La Guitarra, performed in the Oylmpia Dublin for a modern adaptation of the Brecht play Mother Courage featuring Tyne Daly, Featured as a soloist with the RTE Concert Orchestra for a evening of James Bond Theme tunes Derry '04, soloist on the theme music for RTE TV drama "Home Ground", Soloist on the Phil Coulter produced Irish rugby anthem "Irelands Call", played guitar on Luka Bloom/Sinead O Connor duet on "Love is a Place I Dream Of" and has worked on over 30 tuition CD's, DVD's & books for the Walton's Publications. He also produced his own Irish Guitar tuition book & Video for Waltons / Melbay on trad accompliment and is currently working on an updated book & DVD.
